The Honorable Richard A. Park, Judge, Retired
“Joe Ramsey does it all and is one of the best in the business. I know. I saw him in action persuasively trying a very serious personal injury action in my court against one of the best litigators in the country, serving as a court appointed referee in complex and multi-party cases, and collaborating as a pro tem with me in settling what would have otherwise been protracted and contentious actions involving the dissolution of a large and successful family partnership, catastrophic injuries to a young boy, and large residential construction defect claims. Level headed, smart, and experienced as an advocate as well as a neutral, lawyers and their clients listen when Joe speaks.”
Joe Ramsey offers his services in civil cases as a Mediator, a binding Neutral Arbitrator, a Referee, in multi-party complex civil litigation, and, upon the stipulation of the parties and the approval of the Superior Court, as a pro tem Superior Court judge.
Joe Ramsey had a full time practice as a trial lawyer from 1962 until the Spring of 1997. As a trial lawyer, he handled a wide variety of civil disputes, including many different types of business and professional negligence cases for both plaintiffs and defendants. His trial work involved mostly personal injury litigation for both plaintiffs and defendants, the majority for the defense. Joe Ramsey was ranked as an Advocate member of the American Board of Trial Advocates in 1985 and is rated AV by Martindale-Hubbell.
After accepting an invitation from the American Arbitration Association for training as a mediator in 1986, Joe Ramsey began to mediate civil disputes. He combined a growing ADR practice with his practice as a trial lawyer until the Spring of 1997, at which point, his ADR practice required his full time, and it continues full time today.
