“Whenever I have a case that is going to go to arbitration and we have an opportunity to select the arbitrator, I invariably put Joe Ramsey on my list of three to be submitted to the other side. The reason for that is simple. You are going to get a well conducted, well thought out, fair decision from Mr. Ramsey. These days that is all you can ask and more than you can expect from a lot of other venues.”

Joe Ramsey has been selected to serve as the neutral binding arbitrator in nearly 500 cases. Of these, 150 went to hearing and were decided by Joe Ramsey. He has served and continues to serve as a binding neutral arbitrator in a wide variety of business disputes, uninsured/underinsured motorist claims, a wide variety of personal injury cases, and medical and legal malpractice matters.

By the mid 1980s, Joe Ramsey had begun regularly to serve as a binding neutral arbitrator. By the Spring of 1997 when requests for his ADR services required his full time, a significant percentage of his time was occupied hearing and deciding cases as a single neutral arbitrator.

Joe Ramsey recognizes the finality of binding arbitrations which are not appealable and treats every proceeding with extraordinary care. His practice is to write his decisions so that the parties will understand why he reached his conclusions. Knowing that the parties are anxious to know the outcome, his regular practice is to serve the final decision within two weeks of the conclusion of the hearing.
