Mediation Training
In 1986, the American Arbitration Association invited Joe Ramsey to receive its training as a mediator of civil disputes. Within the next year, he received additional training from the AAA, and he began his mediation practice with referrals from the AAA.
In the early 1990s, the American Board of Trial Advocates conducted a two-day training seminar for the mediation of civil disputes which Joe Ramsey attended. Since then, he has attended periodic seminars on mediation offered by qualified California Continuing Legal Education providers.
In April of 2008, Joe Ramsey attended a two day advanced mediation training seminar in San Diego, California, provided by the Association of Attorney-Mediators (AAM), the only national organization of attorney mediators. He is a member of that organization. For more information about AAM, visit their web site.
In the Fall of 2009, he attended a 40 hour training seminar focused on Facilitative Model Mediation presented by The Facilitative Mediation Group. This model is especially helpful in resolving highly emotional disputes.
